A somewhat chaotic arrival

We spent most of this weekend in Chennai. On Friday we had a small party in our apartment with a few trainees from other apartments and three Indian AIESEC members. It was a very nice evening, and once again it turned out that the Japanese somehow can't hold their alcohol that well…

On Sunday we (Iewa, Eugen and I) went back to Ideal Beach and enjoyed the beach. We also rented a motorbike and made our first attempts at riding it. As I said, I'm planning to get my motorbike licence, but it's turning out to be a bit difficult, because there simply are no riding lessons for men. There are only motorbike lessons for women. If all goes well, I'll take my test tomorrow, and so far I haven't spent even 20 minutes in the saddle (the bike we rented was really old, so I had quite a bit of trouble getting it started). Well, let's see how it goes…

On Sunday evening Vishesh asked me to come with him to pick up an intern: Benjamin from Germany. He was supposed to arrive at 23:45. We finally collected him at around half past one. It just took sooooo long. I still have to get used to all this waiting…

Anyway, finding Benjamin a place to sleep wasn't that easy either. He was actually supposed to go to T-Nagar. But firstly they had no free bed, and secondly they didn't feel like staying up until the middle of the night. So I offered that he could sleep at our place for the time being. Viefka is away until 18 May, so he can use her mattress for now. I'm curious whether the AIESEC people will manage to sort out a place for him quickly. Because we're completely full, and on top of that he doesn't have a key (which you need to get in and out)…
