Hospital and a trip to Pondicherry
The plan was to leave for Pondicherry at 9 o'clock on my birthday. But Kunes, my flatmate from Malaysia, wasn't well. She had been throwing up all night and had diarrhoea. In the morning she was very weak, so we decided to take her to a doctor. After checking with the guards and drivers in our building, we took her to the nearest hospital. She was put on a drip straight away, and after an hour she was already much better. The hospital wanted to keep her there to be safe, though, to find out what had caused her dehydration.
Once Kunes was feeling better, we left for Pondicherry at 12 and arrived around 16:00. Finding a hotel was difficult at first, but the fourth one worked out and we found somewhere to stay. Afterwards we explored Pondicherry, had French food (bad and expensive) and enjoyed the rest of the evening.
Sunday morning was pretty chaotic. We all got up at 9 and didn't leave the hotel until 12:30. First the water supply stopped after half of us had showered. Then we waited almost an hour for breakfast, and after that forever for the taxi.
We had decided to take a taxi that would drive us around all day and then take us back to Chennai. It was a bit more expensive (€10 per head), but Vishesh wanted to travel a bit more comfortably.
Anyway, we went to Auroville, to the beach and to a house belonging to the spiritual fathers of Auroville. It was quite nice, but I'd have thought we'd see a few more sights.
