A few words about my internship…

Several people have pointed out that my blog is missing a report about my work. I'd like to make up for that now.

So, I work at Hexaware Technologies, an Indian IT company providing IT services to clients in the US and Europe. I'm in the internal training department, which is called HexaVarsity. In my first weeks here I mainly designed courses, which means I was given material (or got to look for it myself) and turned it into a PowerPoint presentation, a guide for the trainer (what to say on each slide) and a handout for the participants. I also designed tests, role plays and so on to liven up the training a bit.

My first training was on use cases and runs for about 50 hours. After I finished it and it was offered internally, it was postponed for lack of interest. I hope I'll have a bit more success with my other trainings. After that I created several smaller trainings on soft skills (e.g. time management, business communication etc.).

Since creating trainings isn't really challenging in the long run, and I had no idea what to write my student research paper about, I asked for more demanding tasks. And: I now get to help introduce a learning management system (LMS). That's firstly a great topic for a research paper, and secondly much more interesting than course design.
